Following discussions at the Waitangi Forum, concerns were raised regarding the sustainability and practicality of the current NICF structure, particularly with a growing membership base and the increasing demands of Waitangi week. While this matter is scheduled for further discussion at the July 2026 hui, a dedicated wānanga has been proposed to allow for more focused engagement.
This session will provide NICF member Chairs with the opportunity to contribute whakaaro, explore key issues, and help shape recommendations to support the future direction of the forum. Outcomes from the wānanga will be consolidated into a paper and shared with members as part of the July 2026 Forum pack.
